Loose thyself from the bands
of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion, for thus saith the Lord, Ye have
sold yourselves for naught and ye shall be redeemed without money.
Verily, verily, I say unto you that my people shall know my name, yea, in that day they
shall know that I am he that doth speak.
And, again, the Lord God
hath commanded that men should not murder, that they should not lie, that
they should not steal, that they should not take the name of the
Lord their God in vain, that they should not envy, that they should not have malice,
that they should not contend one with another, that they should not
commit whoredoms, and that they should do none of these things.
Thou shalt not take the
name of the Lord thy God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh
his name in vain.
And when that day shall come
that they shall believe in Christ and worship the Father in his
name with pure
hearts and clean hands and look not forward any more for another Messiah,
then, at that time, the day will come that it must needs be expedient
that they should believe these things, and the Lord will set his hand
again the second time to restore his people from their lost and fallen
Behold, they believed in
Christ and worshipped the Father in his name, and also we worship
the Father in his name.
behold, I say unto you, that
as these things are true and as the Lord God liveth, there is none
other name given under heaven save it be this Jesus Christ of which I have spoken
whereby man can be saved.
I say unto you that there
shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby
salvation can come unto the children of men, only in
and through the name of Christ the Lord Omnipotent.
And under this head, ye are
made free, and there is no other head whereby ye can be made free; there is
no other name given whereby salvation cometh.
And I would that ye should
remember also that this is the name that I said I should give
unto you that never should be blotted out except it be through
transgression; therefore take heed that ye do not transgress that the
name be not blotted out of your hearts. I say unto you, I would that ye should
remember to retain the name written always in your hearts
3 Nephi 11:4
Then they that feared the
Lord spake often one to another and the Lord hearkened and heard. And a
book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord
and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of
hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels.
And blessed is he that is found
faithful unto my name at the last day, for he shall be lifted up to dwell in the
kingdom prepared for him from the foundation of the world.
Praise the Lord, call upon
declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is
humble yourselves even in
the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily and standing
steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come...And behold even at this time
ye have been calling on his name and begging for a remission of your sins.
And at some period of time,
they will be brought to believe in his word and to know of the
incorrectness of the traditions of their fathers; and many of them will
be saved, for the Lord will be merciful unto all who call on
Therefore he sent angels to
converse with them, who caused men to behold of his glory. And they
began from that time forth to call on his name; therefore God conversed
with men and made known unto them the plan of redemption which had been
prepared from the foundation of the world.
But God did call on
man in the name of his Son, this being the
plan of redemption which was laid, saying, If ye will repent and harden
not your hearts, then will I have mercy upon you, through mine only
Yea, by the power of their
words many were brought before the altar of God to call on
his name and
confess their sins before him.
And it came to pass that
they did call on the name of the Lord in their might even till
they had all fallen to the earth
If thou desirest this thing,
if thou wilt bow down before God, yea, if thou wilt repent of all thy
sins and will bow down before God and call on his name in faith, believing that ye shall
receive, then shalt thou receive the hope which thou desirest.
Now when the people saw that
they were coming against them they went out to meet them and prostrated
themselves before them to the earth and began to call on
the name of the Lord and thus they were in this attitude when the Lamanites began to
fall upon them and began to slay them with the sword.
Therefore may God grant unto
you my brethren, that ye may begin to exercise your faith unto
repentance, that ye begin to call upon his holy name, that he would have mercy
Thus we may see that the
Lord is merciful unto all who will, in the sincerity of their hearts, call upon
his holy name.
Yea, thus we see that the gate of heaven is open unto all, even to those
who will believe on the name of Jesus Christ who is the Son of
God; yea, we
see that whosoever will lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and
powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning, and the snares, and
the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a straight and
narrow course across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to
engulf the wicked and land their souls, yea, their immortal souls at the
right hand of God in the kingdom of heaven to sit down with Abraham, and
Isaac, and with Jacob, and with all our holy fathers to go no more out.
3 Nephi 2:11
May the God of Abraham, and
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, protect this people in
righteousness so long as they shall call on the name of their God for protection.
And for the space of three
hours did the Lord talk with the brother of Jared and chastened him
because he remembered not to call upon the name of the Lord. And the brother of Jared
repented of the evil which he had done and did call upon the name of
the Lord for
his brethren who were with him.
And as they came forth
to lay their hands upon me I spake unto them, saying, In the name of the Almighty God I command you that ye
touch me not,
for I am filled with the power of God even unto the consuming of my flesh. And whoso
shall lay their hands upon me shall wither even as a dried reed, and he
shall be as naught before the power of God, for God shall smite him.
And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto them that they should
murmur no more against their father, neither should they withhold their
labor from me for God had commanded me that I should build a ship. And I
said unto them, If God had commanded me to do all things, I could do
them. If he should command me that I should say unto this water, Be thou
earth, it should be earth. And if I should say it, it would be done. And now if the Lord has
such great power and has wrought so many miracles among the children of
men, how is it that he cannot instruct me that I should build a ship? And
it came to pass that I, Nephi, said many things unto my brethren,
insomuch that they were confounded and could not contend against me;
neither durst they lay their hands upon me nor touch me with their
fingers even for the space of many days. Now they durst not do this lest
they should wither before me, so powerful was the spirit of God, and thus
it had wrought upon them...And it came to pass that the
Lord said unto me, Stretch forth thine hand again unto thy brethren and
they shall not wither before thee, but I will shock them, saith the Lord,
and this will I do that they may know that I am the Lord their God. And
it came to pass that I stretched forth my hand unto my brethren, and they
did not wither before me, but the Lord did shake them, even according to
the word which he had spoken.
Wherefore, we search the
prophets, and we have many revelations and the spirit of prophecy; and
having all these witnesses we obtain a hope, and our faith becometh
unshaken, insomuch that we truly can command in the name of Jesus, and the very trees obey
us, or the mountains, or the waves of the sea. Nevertheless, the Lord God
sheweth us our weakness, that we may know that it is by his grace and his
great condescensions unto the children of men, that we have power to do
And thou shalt serve me and go forth
in my name and
shall gather together my sheep.
And she said unto him, The
servants of my husband have made it known unto me that thou art a prophet
of a holy God and that thou hast power to do many mighty
works in his name
Now Alma said unto him, This
will I give unto thee for a sign, that thou shalt be struck dumb
according to my words; and I say that in the name of God ye shall be struck dumb,
that ye shall no more have utterance.
And now Zerahemnah I command
you in the name of that all-powerful God who has strengthened our arms that we have
gained power over you by our faith, by our religion, and by our rites of
worship, and by our church, and by the sacred support which we owe to our
wives and our children, by that liberty which binds us to our lands and
our country, yea, and also by the maintenance of the sacred word of God
to which we owe all our happiness, and by all that is most dear unto us.
Yea, and this is not all, I command you by all the desires which ye have
for life that ye deliver up your weapons of war unto us and we will seek
not your blood, but we will spare your lives if ye will go your way and
come not again to war against us.
3 Nephi 3:7
For so great was his faith
on the Lord Jesus Christ that angels did minister unto him daily, and in the
name of Jesus did he cast out devils and unclean spirits, and even his brother did
he raise from the dead -after he had been stoned and suffered death by
the people- and the people saw it and did witness of it and were angry
with him because of his power; and he did also do many more miracles in
the sight of the people in the name of Jesus.
3 Nephi 4:1
it was a just man who
did keep the record for he truly did many miracles in the name of
Jesus and there
was not any man who could do a miracle in the name of Jesus save he were cleansed every
whit from his iniquity.
3 Nephi 6:5
Many will say to me in that
day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy
name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful
works? And then
will I profess unto them, I never knew you.
4 Nephi 1:2
And there were great and
marvellous works wrought by the disciples of Jesus insomuch that they did
heal the sick, and raise the dead, and cause the lame to walk, and the
blind to receive their sight, and the deaf to hear. And all manner of
miracles did they work among the children of men, and in
nothing did they work miracles save it were in the name of Jesus.
And he knoweth their faith,
for in his name could they remove mountains, and in his
name could they cause the earth to shake, and by the power of his word
did they cause prisons to tumble to the earth.
Mormon 4:9 (this one is
iffy - it could also be "signs that follow them that believe in my
And these signs shall follow
them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new
tongues, they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing,
it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover. And whosoever shall believe in my name, doubting nothing, unto
him will I confirm all my words, even unto the ends of the earth.
See that ye partake
not of the sacrament of Christ unworthily, but see that ye do all things
in worthiness, and do it in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of
the living God.
And if it so be that they
repent and come unto the Father in the name of Jesus, they shall be received
into the kingdom of God.
For the brother of Jared
said unto the mountain Zerin, Remove, and it was removed. And if he had
not had faith, it would not have moved. Wherefore, thou workest after men
have faith. For thus did thou manifest thyself unto thy disciples; for after
they had faith and did speak in thy name, thou didst shew thyself unto them in great
After they had prayed unto the
Father in the name of Christ, they laid their hands upon them and said, In the
name of Jesus Christ, I ordain you to be a priest
Wherefore, my beloved
brethren, I know that if ye shall follow the Son with full purpose of
heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with real
intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that ye are
willing to take upon you the name of Christ by baptism, yea, by following your
Lord and your Savior down into the water according to his word, behold,
then shall ye receive the Holy Ghost. Yea, then cometh the baptism of
fire and of the Holy Ghost, and then can ye speak with the tongue of
angels, and shout praises unto the Holy One of Israel.
And moreover I shall give this
people a name
that thereby they may be distinguished above all the people which the
Lord God hath brought out of the land of Jerusalem. And this I do because
they have been a diligent people in keeping the commandments of the Lord.
And I give unto them a name that never shall be blotted out except it be
Therefore I would that ye
should take upon you the name of Christ, all you that have entered
into the covenant with God that ye should be obedient unto the end of
your lives. And it shall come to
pass that whosoever doeth this shall be found at the right hand of God,
for he shall know the name by which he is called; for he shall be
called by the name of Christ.
And now it shall come to
pass that whosoever shall not take upon them the name of Christ must be called by
some other name;
therefore he findeth himself on the left hand of God.And I would that ye should remember
also that this is the name that I said I should give unto you that never
should be blotted out except it be through transgression; therefore take
heed that ye do not transgress that the name be not blotted out of your
hearts. I say unto you, I would that ye should remember to retain the
name written always in your hearts, that ye are not found on the left
hand of God, but that ye hear and know the voice by which ye
shall be called and also the name by which he shall call you. For how knoweth a man the
master whom he has not served and who is a stranger unto him and is far
from the thoughts and intents of his heart? And again, doth a man take an
ass which belongeth to his neighbor and keep him? I say unto you, Nay. He
will not even suffer that he shall feed among his flocks but will drive
him away and cast him out. I say unto you that even so shall it be among
you if ye know not the name by which ye are called.
And it came to pass that
there was not one soul, except it were little children, but what had entered
into the covenant and had taken upon them the name of Christ.
And now there were seven
churches in the land of Zarahemla. And it came to pass that whosoever
were desirous to take upon them the name of Christ or of God, they did join the churches
of God, and they were called the people of God. And the Lord did pour out
his Spirit upon them, and they were blessed and prospered in the land.
Yea, blessed is this people,
are willing to bear my name; for in my name shall they be called, and they are mine. And because thou hast inquired of me
concerning the transgressor, thou art blessed. Thou art my servant, and I
covenant with thee that thou shalt have eternal life. And thou shalt
serve me and go forth in my name and shall gather together my sheep. And
he that will hear my voice shall be my sheep, and him shall ye receive
into the church, and him will I also receive. For behold, this is my
church. Whosoever is baptized shall be baptized unto repentance, and
whosoever ye receive shall believe in my name, and him will I freely
forgive. For it is I that taketh upon me the sins of the world, for it is
I that hath created them. And it is I that granteth unto him that
believeth unto the end a place at my right hand. For behold, in my
name are they called, and if they know me, they shall come forth and shall have a
place eternally at my right hand.
But it came to pass that
whosoever did not belong to the church of God began to persecute those
that did belong to the Church of God and had taken
upon them the name of Christ.
Behold I say unto you that
the good shepherd doth call you; yea, and in his own name he doth call
you, which is
the name of Christ.
And if ye will not hearken unto the voice of the good shepherd, to the
name by which ye are called, behold ye are not the sheep of the good shepherd.
And now my beloved brethren,
I desire that ye should remember these things and that ye should work out
your salvation with fear before God and that ye should no more deny the
coming of Christ; that ye contend no more against the Holy Ghost, but
that ye receive it and take upon you the name of Christ; that ye humble yourselves
even to the dust, and worship God in whatsoever place ye may be in, in
spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily for the many
mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.
Yea, all those who were true
believers in Christ took upon them gladly the name of Christ, or Christians as they were
called, because of their belief in Christ who should come.
And he said, Surely God
shall not suffer that we who are despised because we take
upon us the name of Christ shall be trodden down and destroyed until we bring it
upon us by our own transgressions.
if they should transgress
the commandments of God or fall into transgression and be ashamed to take upon
them the name of Christ, the Lord should rend them even as they had rent their
3 Nephi 12:4
And they said unto him,
Lord, we will that thou wouldst tell us the name whereby we shall call
this church, for there are disputations among the people concerning this
matter. And the Lord said unto them, Verily, verily I say unto you, Why
is it that the people should murmur and dispute because of this thing?
Have they not read the scriptures which say ye must take upon
you the name of Christ, which is my name? For by this name shall ye be called
at the last day.
And whoso taketh upon him my name and endureth to the end, the same shall be
saved at the last day. Therefore whatsoever ye shall do, ye shall do
it in my name.
Therefore ye shall call the church in my name, and ye shall call upon the
Father in my name that he will bless the church for my sake. And how be
it my church save it be called in my name? For if a church be called in
Moses' name, then it be Moses' church; or if it be called in the name of
a man, then it be the church of a man; but if it be called in my name,
then it is my church, if it so be that they are built upon my gospel. Verily, I say
unto you that ye are built upon my gospel. Therefore ye shall call
whatsoever things ye do call in my name. Therefore if ye call upon the Father for the
church, if it be in my name, the Father will hear you.
O ye pollutions, ye
hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker,
why have ye polluted the holy church of God? Why are ye ashamed to take upon
you the name of Christ? Why do you not think that greater is the value of an endless
happiness than that misery which never dies, because of the praise of the
that they may eat in
remembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God the
Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the name of
thy Son and
always remember him and keep his commandments which he hath given them,
that they may always have his Spirit to be with them.
And none was received unto
baptism save they took upon them the name of Christ, having a determination to
serve him to the end.
And he commandeth all men
that they must repent and be baptized in his name, having perfect faith in
the Holy One of Israel or they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God. And
if they will not repent and believe in his name, and be
baptized in his name, and endure to the end, they must be damned, for the Lord God,
the Holy One of Israel has spoken it.
2 Nephi 13:2
Wherefore, my beloved
brethren, can we follow Jesus save we shall be willing to keep the
commandments of the Father? And the Father said, Repent ye, repent ye,
and be baptized in the name of my beloved Son. And also the voice of the
Son came unto me saying, He that is baptized in my name, to him will the Father
give the Holy Ghost, like unto me. Wherefore, follow me and do the things
which ye have seen me do.
Now I say unto you, If this
be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being baptized
in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a
covenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that
he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?
3 Nephi 5:8
Verily I say unto you that
whoso repenteth of his sins through your words and desireth to be baptized
in my name, on
this wise shall ye baptize them: behold, ye shall go down and stand in
the water and in my name shall ye baptize them. And now behold, these are
the words which ye shall say, calling them by name, saying, Having
authority given me of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. And then shall ye immerse them in the
water and come forth again out of the water. And after this manner shall
ye baptize in my name.
3 Nephi 5:9
And again I say unto you, Ye
must repent and become as a little child and be baptized
in my name or
ye can in nowise receive these things. And again I say unto you, Ye must
repent and be baptized in my name and become as a little child or ye can in
nowise inherit the kingdom of God.
3 Nephi 8:6
Behold, there shall one be
ordained among you and to him will I give power that he shall break bread
and bless it and give it unto the people of my church, unto all those who
shall believe and be baptized in my name.
3 Nephi 8:7
And this shall ye
always do to those who repent and are baptized in my name, and ye shall do it in
remembrance of my blood which I have shed for you that ye may witness
unto the Father that ye do always remember me.
3 Nephi 8:7
And as I have prayed
among you, even so shall ye pray in my church among my people who do
repent and are baptized in my name.
3 Nephi 8:9
Nevertheless ye shall not
cast him out from among you, but ye shall minister unto him and shall
pray for him unto the Father in my name, and if it so be that he
repenteth and is baptized in my name, then shall ye receive him and shall minister
unto him of my flesh and blood.
3 Nephi 9:10
the Gentiles, if they will
not harden their hearts, that they may repent and come unto me and be baptized
in my name and
know of the true points of my doctrine, that they may be numbered among
my people, O house of Israel.
3 Nephi 12:3
And as many as were baptized
in the name of Jesus were filled with the Holy Ghost.
3 Nephi 12:3
And they who were baptized
in the name of Jesus were called the church of Christ.
3 Nephi 12:4
And it came to pass that as
the disciples of Jesus were journeying and were preaching the things
which they had both heard and seen and were baptizing in the name
of Jesus, it
came to pass that the disciples were gathered together and were united in
mighty prayer and fasting.
3 Nephi 12:5
And it shall come to pass
that whoso repenteth and is baptized in my name shall be filled, and if he
endureth to the end, behold, him will I hold guiltless before my Father
at that day when I shall stand to judge the world.
3 Nephi 12:5
Repent all ye ends of the
earth and come unto me and be baptized in my name that ye may be sanctified
by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me
at the last day.
3 Nephi 14:1
And come unto me and be baptized
in my name that
ye may receive a remission of your sins and be filled with the Holy
Ghost, that ye may be numbered with my people who are of the house of
4 Nephi 1:1
And as many as did come unto
them and did truly repent of their sins were baptized
in the name of Jesus, and they did also receive the Holy Ghost.
Therefore repent and be
baptized in the name of Jesus, and lay hold upon the gospel of Christ which shall be
set before you
Therefore repent all ye ends
of the earth, and come unto me and believe in my gospel and be
baptized in my name.
And he hath said, Repent all
ye ends of the earth and come unto me and be baptized in my name and have faith in me that
ye may be saved.
And now behold, I
would speak unto you concerning things which are and which are to come,
wherefore, I will read you the words of Isaiah. And they are the words
which my brother has desired that I should speak unto you. And I speak
unto you for your sakes that ye may learn and glorify
the name of your God.
2 Nephi 6:11
Behold, my soul abhorreth
sin and my heart delighteth in righteousness, and I will
praise the holy name of my God.
2 Nephi 6:11
Behold, my beloved brethren,
remember the words of your God. Pray unto him continually by day and give
thanks unto his holy name by night.
2 Nephi 9:18
Praise the Lord, call upon
his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name

Wherefore, my soul
delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have seen his day and my heart
doth magnify his holy name.

Therefore thus saith the
Lord, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: Jacob shall

they did cry out with one accord, saying, Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God! And they did fall down at the feet of Jesus and did worship him.

Our Father who art in
heaven, hallowed be thy name.
3 Nephi 10:5
Verily, I say unto you, I
commanded my servant Samuel the Lamanite, that he should testify unto
this people that at the day that the Father should glorify his name
in me, that
there were many saints who should arise from the dead and should appear
unto many and should minister unto them. And he said unto them, Were it
Behold, thou shalt not
suffer these things which ye have seen and heard to go forth unto the
world until the time cometh that I shall glorify my name in the flesh.
Wherefore, it must needs be
that some had faith in him, for he shewed himself not unto the world, but
because of the faith of men he has shewn himself unto the world and glorified
the name of the Father and prepared a way that thereby others might
be partakers of the heavenly gift, that they might hope for those things
which they have not seen.
now my beloved brethren, I perceive that ye ponder still in your hearts,
and it grieveth me that I must speak concerning this thing. For if ye
would hearken unto the spirit which teacheth a man to pray, ye would know
that ye must pray, for the evil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but
teacheth him that he must not pray. But behold I say unto you that ye
must pray always and not faint, that ye must not perform anything unto
the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray
unto the Father in the name of Christ that he will
consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the
welfare of thy soul.
2 Nephi 15:2
And I pray
the Father in the name of Christ that many of us, if not all, may be saved in his
kingdom at that great and last day.
knowing that the Lord God was able to preserve our records, I cried unto
him continually, for he had said unto me, Whatsoever thing ye shall ask
in faith, believing that ye shall receive, in the name of
ye shall receive it. And I had faith, and I did cry unto God that he
would preserve the records.
3 Nephi 7:4
if it so be that my people

3 Nephi 8:1

the Father, in my name, that ye may understand and prepare your minds for the morrow

3 Nephi 8:8
Behold, verily, verily I say
unto you, Ye must watch and pray always, lest ye enter into temptation,
for Satan desireth to have you that he may sift you as wheat; therefore
ye must always pray unto the Father in my name. And whatsoever ye shall ask the

Nevertheless ye shall not
cast him out from among you, but ye shall minister unto him and shall pray for
him unto the Father in my name, and if it so be that he repenteth and is baptized in
my name, then shall ye receive him and shall minister unto him of my
flesh and blood.
3 Nephi 9:2
And behold, they did cause
that the multitude should kneel down upon the face of the earth and
should pray unto the Father in the name of Jesus. And the
disciples did pray unto the Father also in the name of Jesus. And it came to pass that
they arose and ministered unto the people. And when they had ministered
those same words which Jesus had spoken, nothing varying from the words
which Jesus had spoken, behold, they knelt again and prayed to
the Father in the name of Jesus and they did pray for that which they most
3 Nephi 9:9
And it shall come to pass
that the time cometh when the fullness of my gospel shall be preached
unto them and they shall believe in me, that I am Jesus Christ, the Son
of God, and shall pray unto the Father in my name.
3 Nephi 10:1
Yea, the work shall commence
among all the dispersed of my people with the Father, to prepare the way
whereby they may come unto me, that they may call on the Father in my
3 Nephi 12:4
And Jesus again shewed
himself unto them for they were praying unto the Father in his name, and Jesus came and stood
in the midst of them and saith unto them, What will ye that I shall give
3 Nephi 12:4
Therefore if ye call upon
the Father for the church, if it be in my name, the Father will hear you.
3 Nephi 13:1
And now I go unto the
Father. And verily I say unto you, Whatsoever things ye shall ask the
Father in my name,
it shall be given unto you, therefore ask and ye shall receive, knock and
it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh, receiveth, and unto him
that knocketh it shall be opened.
3 Nephi 13:5
And they are as the angels
of God, and if they shall pray unto the Father in the name of
Jesus they can
shew themselves unto whatsoever man it seemeth them good.
Cry mightily unto the Father
the name of Jesus
that perhaps ye may be found spotless, pure, fair and white, having been
cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, at that great and last day.
Behold I say unto you that
whoso believeth in Christ, doubting nothing, whatsoever he shall ask the
Father in the name of Christ it shall be granted him. And this promise is unto all,
even unto the ends of the earth.
O then despise not and
wonder not, but hearken unto the words of the Lord and ask the
Father in the name of Jesus for what things soever ye shall stand in need. Doubt
not, but be believing, and begin as in times of old and come unto the
Lord with all your heart and work out your own salvation with fear and
trembling before him.
when ye shall call upon
the Father in my name with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, then shall ye know
that the Father hath remembered the covenant which he made unto your
fathers, O house of Israel.
And he called them by name,
saying, Ye shall call on the Father in my name in mighty
after ye have done this ye shall have power that on him whom ye shall lay
your hands ye shall give the Holy Ghost.
After they had prayed
unto the Father in the name of Christ, they laid their hands upon them and said, In
the name of Jesus Christ, I ordain you to be a priest
And the elder or priest did
minister it; and they did kneel down with the church and pray to the
Father in the name of Christ, saying, O God the Eternal Father, we ask
thee in the name of thy Son Jesus Christ to bless and sanctify this bread to the souls
of all those who partake of it
Behold they took the cup and
said, O God the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son
Jesus Christ to
bless and sanctify this wine to the souls of all those who drink of it
Whatsoever thing ye shall ask the
Father in my name
which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, behold, it shall
be done unto you.
I am mindful of you always
in my prayers, continually praying unto God the Father in the
name of his Holy Child Jesus that he through his infinite goodness and grace will
keep you through the endurance of faith on his name to the end.
And when ye shall receive
these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God
the Eternal Father in the name of Christ, if these things are not true.
